PURSUANT to the Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act, the act of May 19, 1995, P.L. 4, No. 1995-2., notice is hereby given that J. J. Gumberg Company (Gumberg) is submitting to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection a Notice of Intent to Remediate a site located at 4801 McKnight Road, Ross Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania (site). This Notice of Intent to Remediate states that the site is impacted by chlorinated volatile organic compounds associated with a dry cleaning solvents that were historically used at the site. Gumberg has indicated that the proposed remediation measures will be pathway elimination. The planned future use of the property is commercial. Gumberg plans to use a combination of the statewide health and site-specific standards at the site. The Act provides for a 30-day public comment period for site-specific standard remediations. The 30-day comment period is initiated with the publication of this notice. Until May 11, 2017, Ross Township may submit a request to Gumberg to be involved in the development of the remediation plan for the site. Ross Township may also submit a request to Gumberg during this 30-day comment period to develop and implement a public involvement plan.
